Panasonic NN-SD372S Stainless Steel Microwave Review

This Panasonic NN-SD372S has turned out to be a nice little microwave. It looks nice and works well. I missed when I bought it any description stating that it has no number keys. Just a knob to turn to dial in the time. I didn’t think I would like it but now it’s actually easy and quicker than typing in numbers.

I have not tried the defrosting function yet but everything else is great. Reheats very evenly, cooks rice just as good as our old microwave, does a nice job on our frozen vegetables. Looked at some of the other microwaves but this one seemed to fit what we needed.

The design engineers at Panasonic did a fine job. It’s user friendly without even opening the manual. I had a Sanyo I never liked that had a loud and annoying beep. It went on and on, even when you opened the door. Not with this Panasonic. Its beep is a gentle reminder and shuts off when the door is opened. The appearance is attractive and rather classy.

I love the controls, some designed to be elongated buttons. Nothing cheaply done here by Panasonic. There’s even a round knob to control the temp and weight of meat that can be pressed to recess into the cabinet when you’re finished with it. I have no regrets in purchasing this nicely designed microwave.

The Panasonic NN-SD372S is an absolute perfect microwave! The size is small, but all my plates fit well. It is so quiet that you will not know it is running. Sure, there is a bit of a hum after it operates, but that barely can be heard. Perfect popcorn and easy dial turn. Super great product, Panasonic!

Overall I like the microwave. There are some features I still don’t understand even after reading the manual. I have not quite figured out the defrost or reheat features as no setting I use seems to be the right one. I just have to watch it close. The dial only allows adjusting in 10-sec increments which I do not like. Heats and reheats well and fits a regular size plate well.

This Panasonic NN-SD372S microwave works great. It’s small and compact, yet larger on the inside than you would think. We can easily fit whatever we need to heat up inside – we’ve never come across a plate or item that wouldn’t fit. Using the knob for adding time takes a tad bit of getting used to, but once you do you can set times pretty quickly.

This unit is quiet compared to our older microwave. As others mentioned, if the unit has run for an extended period (more than a minute or two), or if you run it two or more times consecutively, it will automatically run the fan for about 30 seconds afterwards. It’s not a big deal, and is not loud.

The power of this microwave seem to hotter than the regular microwave because of its constant power. Some of the auto heat functions are a little too hot for my preference but this microwave has a number of ways to control the heat.

The microwave does not interfere with the reception of my FM radio, which is very important, located next to the microwave. I like the dial which replaces the number buttons and the alarm sound is not annoying. If you defrost meats the inverter does a great job, no hot spots. Baked potatoes are perfect.

So far, so good. Definite step up in looks as far as microwaves go actually looks good on the countertop. Heats food up fast and evenly and is incredibly quiet. There is a small quiet fan that remains on for under a minute after you are done using it.

Unless you are cooking big meals, there is no need to get anything bigger than this. It easily fit a standard size dinner plate. As with most Panasonic products, I am hoping this will last a long time.

I have only been using the Panasonic NN-SD372S for about a month. I think this is a great counter microwave that does a great job, easy to use, but doesn’t take up a lot of space, and was relatively inexpensive. I found the buttons very intuitive and love the ability to easily run a low setting.

Regular microwaves just pulse the high waves to create a low setting which can cause burns and hot spots. This heat nice and even. I haven’t tried the defrost yet. Hopefully, with the Inverter, it will not “cook” the edges on defrost like my old GE.
