The blade is made of high-carbon, high-quality Sandvik steel for extreme hardness (57-60 on the Rockwell scale) and exceptional toughness. The steel contains ultra-fine carbides for superb forging and hardening properties thus allowing it to take a razor-sharp edge for excellent cutting performance. It is also harder than stainless steel and as such it sharpens easily and holds its edge longer. The drop point blade is 1/8-inch thick to give it strength to perform necessary bushcraft tasks with ease.
The blade spine (or back of the blade) is ridge ground hence it can be used to scrape a fire steel efficiently to start fire.
The blade is treated with an anti-corrosive, black tungsten DLC (diamond-like coating) for durability to last for a long time.
- ** Since it uses high-carbon, high-quality Sandvik steel, it means that it does not contain Chromium hence it is prone to corrosion and rust. To keep the blade performing at its optimum, frequent maintenance such as applying a thin layer of oil after use is required.
- ** It is not full tang construction hence not strong enough to do heavy tasks such as batoning or chopping thick wood.
It comes with an ergonomic handle with high-friction rubber grip for excellent balance and control as well as secure grip in any conditions, dry or wet. It also comes with a front groove to prevent the index finger from sliding onto the cutting edge upon forward thrust of the knife.
It comes with a durable black plastic sheath to store knife in safely after use. It comes with a belt clip to attach it to a backpack or belt for hands-free carrying conveniently. It also comes with a diamond sharpener to sharpen the blade when it goes dull after frequent use. To top it off, it includes a branded fire starter that’s proven to work in wet condition hence starting a fire will always be easy.
The Morakniv Bushcraft 10791 is a simple, well-designed knife that’s made to perform at the highest level. The combination of a razor-sharp blade with ergonomic handle makes light work of any carving, cutting, slicing and other bushcraft tasks.
