After getting back from the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament there was no time for rest. I hit the ground running as I got in the gym over the past week and have been training at least twice a day with John Lucas. Three days a week I have been hitting the weight room hard with the personal trainers at Hanks Gym in Houston, Tex., in between morning and afternoon skill workouts. At Portsmouth I weighed in at 230 even. Since then I have put on five pounds of muscle weighing in at 235, which is great news for me as I will continue to get stronger and put on muscle. In the skill workouts I've been working a lot on my perimeter defense as well as ball handling. We also have been spending quite a bit of time on my shooting, as I've been getting up close to a thousand shots a day if not more. I feel like I have done a great job of working on my weaknesses and will continue to do so. I have about a week and a half to keep at it in the gym with Coach Lucas on developing my game before I go back to school next week for my graduation ceremony at Ball State. After that I will be right back in Houston waiting for things to pick up as it will be time for NBA teams to start calling guys in for workouts.I am confident that I will be ready and I am very excited to see how it goes. Remember every week I will be writing in my NBA Draft diary on Thehoopsreport.com and you can follow me on Twitter @jarrodjones45 for daily updates.
